Joomla update email - disable update notification
As soon as a new Joomla update becomes available, Joomla sends an email to all administrators by default. This is not spam, and the update notification can easily be disabled in the plugin settings.
The email with the subject 'Joomla! update available for example.org ...' actually already contains all the important information.
Log in to the admin area (under /administrator), open Extensions -> Plugins and search for 'Update Notification'.
In the overview, the system plugin can be disabled with a click.

Why you should not disable notifications about Joomla updates
Some people consider the system update notifications to be spam. If the update is continuously ignored, countless emails can pile up over time.
However, some updates contain security-related fixes and should therefore be installed promptly, especially in this case. So if you do not log in to the backend regularly anyway, it is best not to disable the notifications.
