Sucuri SiteCheck - WordPress Security Check
With the free Sucuri Sitecheck you can scan your WordPress website externally for malware and spam.
In addition to the hosting provider, the CMS version is also detected.
In addition, 9 major blacklist providers are checked for their domain rating. These include:
- ✅ Domain checked with Google Safe Browsing
- ✅ Domain checked with by McAfee
- ✅ Domain checked with Sucuri Sitecheck Labs
- ✅ Domain checked with ESET
- ✅ Domain checked with PhishTank
- ✅ Domain checked with Yandex
- ✅ Domain checked with Opera
What makes Sucuri Sitecheck unique is that it can be used universally and is not limited to WordPress.
- (JavaScript) Malware
- Spam Hacks
- Defacements
- and Server Errors
are detected across CMS platforms with a high detection rate. Of course, this check only takes place externally and by no means detects everything, especially when it comes to user-agent and referrer-dependent redirects.
WP Sec offers a supplementary security check for WordPress. Here,
plugin versions and their corresponding vulnerabilities are partially detected.
The Sucuri WordPress Plugin
In addition to the sitecheck, there is also a Sucuri WordPress plugin that offers some very useful features.

The plugin is now managed by GoDaddy. A better alternative would be WordFence or NinjaScanner.
Sucuri has been active internationally in the website security field for years and, alongside Wordfence, which specializes fully in WordPress, is a well-known name to many.
